Awareness Activity

Awareness is a key component of promoting amateur radio communication among masses. The benefits of joining amateur radio service are explained with practical examples and case studies, besides encouraging youth to become partners in socio-economic development. The main objective of the program is to impart the fundamental knowledge of HAM Radio, significance in Emergency situations, Research and Technological development, as a personal Hobby, community service, Etc. for novice.

The National Institute of Amateur Radio (NIAR) conducts regular awareness programs / Demos in Amateur Radio to Schools / Colleges and other Institutions.

The Program comprises the following briefly.

1. An Introductory Video of Amateur Radio
2. Presentation on Amateur Radio on varied topics
3. Tour of the Radio Museum (If the Program is in NIAR premises)
4. Demo of various technologies used in amateur radio. (Eg.How to send email without internet?)
5. Fox Hunt game
6. Hands on use of the Radio
7. Q&A session

Any School / College / Institution interested in the Awareness Program can send an email communication to info@niar.org requesting for a demo. They have an option for the demo to be conducted in their School / College campus OR at the NIAR campus.
